Police Books  Notorious Drug Peddler in Bandipora Under PIT NDPS Act

Bandipora, 06 May: Jammu & Kashmir Police booked notorious drug peddler under Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (PIT NDPS Act) in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district.

Bandipora police in continuing its action against drug peddlers booked today notorious drug peddler under Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (PIT NDPS Act) as he was actively involved in the illegal trade of illicit trafficking of Narcotic drugs and Psychotropic Substances and where motivating the youth for consumption of the drugs thus responsible for spreading drug menace in the society”, said an officer.

He was booked under PIT-NDPS, the spokesperson said, identified him as Irshad Ahmad Khan Son of Abdul Samad Khan of Sofipora Asham Hajin.

It is pertinent to mention here that many cases were registered against the said drug peddler and was involved in promoting drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to local youth of Asham and other areas of District Bandipora. Despite his involvement in many FIRs he did not mend his activities and was again involved in promoting drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to local youth.

This has been hailed by the general public of Bandipora and general public have appreciated this action of Bandipora police.”

“Bandipora police is committed towards eradicating the drug menace from the society and such efforts will continue in future also”, reiterated the spokesperson.
