April, 26; Bandipora: The Bandipora district administration on Wednesday evening launched an immediate operation to save lives owing to landslides near Nussu in Bandipora town.
An official spokesperson said at around 11PM, due to incessant rains, a land slide was reported in Nusso area of Bandipora district, leading to damages to the main road near Dar Ul Uloom Raheemiyah.
District Admin Bandipora immediately responded, and the team of officers led by Tehsildar Bandipora, Shiekkh Tariq, SHO Bandipora, and other officials of R&B, PDD and other departments reached the spot to assess the situation.
"As a precautionary measure and to safeguard the life, few families living downside were relocated to safer locations".
Administration has also stopped the traffic on the said road and has advised people/commuters to take Nowpora – Nusso route via main market for travel.
