‘Indian Army Averts Major Tragedy By Swift Fire Fighting, Rescue Operation’

Bandipora, April 17: A fire incident in Haknar village of Bandipora district was brought under control in the early hours of Friday after a prompt response by Indian Army personnel, preventing it from spreading to nearby houses, officials said.

The fire broke out at around 3:30 am in Famdapatti Mohalla, engulfing a residential house and an adjoining cow shed belonging to a local resident, Shabir Ahmad Kasana.

According to officials, a team from the Army Camp Gund rushed to the spot after receiving information about the incident and initiated firefighting efforts.

The team managed to control the blaze in time, limiting the damage and preventing it from affecting nearby structures in the densely populated locality.

No loss of life or injuries were reported in the incident, officials said.

Preliminary reports indicate that the fire caused damage to the house and the livestock shelter. The exact cause of the fire has not been determined so far.

Authorities said an assessment of the losses is being carried out.
