Jammu, August 10: The historic Panjvaktra Mahadev Mandir once again came alive with devotion, classical music and dance as the temple hosted the second Bhajan Sandhya of the ongoing Sawan Mahotsav 2026 on Monday evening.
Held after the Sandhya Aarti, the programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from devotees, music lovers, families and people from all walks of life.
The evening began in a deeply devotional atmosphere, with the sacred ambience of the temple providing a fitting setting for an evening dedicated to Indian classical traditions.
Renowned classical and devotional singer Pankaj Pradhan presented soulful bhajans, captivating the gathering with his melodious renditions.
Later, noted Bharatanatyam artiste Nitika Aggarwal presented a graceful and expressive recital. Her performance beautifully brought together the devotional spirit of the occasion with the elegance and traditional vocabulary of Bharatanatyam.
The evening also showcased the promising talent of Mohit Kashyap, young classical singers from Rangyug Sangeet Vidyalaya. His soulful presentations reflected the growing interest in Indian classical music among the younger generation of Jammu.
The temple premises remained filled with a serene and vibrant atmosphere as devotees experienced the confluence of bhakti, classical music and traditional dance. The participation of people from different walks of life added to the warmth and community spirit of the Mahotsav, making the second Monday of Sawan a memorable spiritual and cultural gathering.
The musical presentation was beautifully enriched by the accomplished accompanists Er. S. Amarjeet Singh on Violin, Sh. Parshotam Kumar on Pakhawaj, Sh. Rakesh Anand on Flute, Krishan Kumar on harmonium and Sh. Vinay on Tabla. Their skilful accompaniment added depth, rhythm and richness to the performance, further enhancing the devotional and classical character of the evening.
Speaking on the occasion, Suresh Kumar Sharma, Receiver, Panjvaktra Mahadev Mandir, expressed his gratitude to the artistes and devotees for their enthusiastic participation.
He said, “It is deeply satisfying to see people coming together every Monday to celebrate Sawan through music, dance and devotion. The participation of accomplished artistes along with young and promising talent from Jammu makes these programmes particularly special. Such evenings enrich the spiritual experience of devotees while also reflecting the vibrant cultural talent of our city.”

The Bhajan Sandhya concluded on a spiritually uplifting note, with devotees seeking the blessings of Lord Shiva and carrying with them the experience of an evening where faith, music, dance and Jammu’s cultural spirit came together.
