Budgam, July 06: Budgam Police has successfully solved a theft case involving the theft of valuables from tourist vehicles parked at the tourist destination of Doodhpathri and recovered stolen cash and other valuables from the accused.
On 05.07.2026, a police party from Police Station Khansahib apprehended a suspect while he was attempting to steal valuable items from tourist vehicles parked at Doodhpathri.
Accordingly, FIR No. 120/2026 under Section 305 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) was registered at Police Station Khansahib, and investigation was immediately taken up.
During investigation, the accused was identified as Adil Ahmad, son of Ghulam Ahmad Bhat, a resident of Kanoora, Khansahib. During questioning, the accused confessed to his involvement in the instant offence and further disclosed that he had earlier committed another theft at Doodhpathri, during which he had stolen cash and a mobile phone from a tourist. Acting on the disclosure, police party recovered the stolen items, including cash amounting to ₹1,05,500, earbuds, and a smartphone.
Further investigation into the case is in progress for the recovery of remaining stolen items . Budgam Police remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of tourists as well as local residents.
