Srinagar, September 9: Nearly 400 local artists are participating in cultural programmes being organised at various venues in Srinagar as part of the ongoing International Film Festival Jammu & Kashmir (IFFJ&K), with performances scheduled through the festival’s closing day on September 10.
The programmes are being organised by the Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) in collaboration with the Jammu & Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) to provide festival delegates, guests and local audiences an opportunity to witness traditional music, folk performances and other cultural forms of Jammu and Kashmir.
The cultural programmes are being held at several prominent locations, including the Jhelum Riverfront at Rajbagh, Old Zero Bridge, Sher-i-Kashmir Park, Nishat Garden and the Sher-i-Kashmir International Convention Centre (SKICC).
The performances include a range of traditional and cultural presentations reflecting the folk traditions and performing arts of the region. The initiative is aimed at complementing the film festival with local cultural performances and providing a platform for artists during the festival.
On the closing day of the festival, September 10, cultural programmes will be held at the designated venues from 5 pm to 7 pm.
The programmes bring together film screenings and festival activities with music, folk traditions and performing arts at public and cultural spaces across Srinagar.
IFFJ&K is currently underway in Jammu and Kashmir, with the cultural programmes forming part of the activities being held alongside the film festival.
