AGS Wuzur Shortlisted Among World’s Top 10 Schools for Innovation Prize 2026

Anantnag, June 25: Army Goodwill School (AGS) Wuzur, Anantnag has been shortlisted among the Top 10 schools globally for the prestigious World’s Best School Prizes 2026 in the Innovation Prize category.

In a statement issued to Kashmir Convener, it was stated that the school was selected from thousands of nominations submitted by educational institutions worldwide, reflecting its exceptional commitment to innovation, quality education and student development.

The statement said the World’s Best School Prizes, established in 2022 by global education organisation T4 Education, are regarded as one of the most prestigious international awards in the field of education. The awards recognise outstanding schools across five categories: Community Collaboration, Environmental Action, Innovation, Overcoming Adversity and Supporting Healthy Lives.

According to the statement, AGS Wuzur earned the global recognition for its innovative educational practices, student-centric learning environment and efforts to transform lives through education. The achievement places the school among an elite group of institutions setting benchmarks for excellence and inspiring educational communities around the world.

Education leaders and stakeholders hailed the achievement as a testament to the dedication of the school’s leadership, teachers, students and the wider Army Goodwill Schools network. They said the recognition also highlights the transformative role being played by Army Goodwill Schools in promoting quality education in remote and underserved areas of Jammu and Kashmir.

Governor of Himachal Pradesh, Kavinder Gupta, in a video message congratulated the Army Goodwill Schools fraternity on the achievement, describing it as an inspiration for schools across the country. Education Minister Sakeena Itoo and Director, CSIR–Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (IIIM), Dr. Zabeer Ahmad, also congratulated the school, terming the recognition a significant milestone for the Union Territory that reflects the impact of innovative educational practices in nurturing creativity and problem-solving skills among students.
