Bandipora, April 17: Former Minister and Ex MLA Bandipora Usman Majid today addressed gathering of party workers in Naidkhai, where he launched a scathing attack on the ruling JKNC, accusing it of securing votes through deception and failing to deliver on its promises.

While addressing the gathering, Majid said that the people were misled with false assurances and hollow slogans during elections, but on the ground, there has been little to no improvement in basic living conditions. “The ruling party has betrayed the trust of the people by resorting to deceit and empty promises. The reality today stands in stark contrast to what was promised,” he remarked.

Highlighting the grim situation in Sonawari, Majid expressed deep concern over the lack of basic amenities even in the 21st century. He pointed out that several areas continue to suffer from neglect, with essential services like drinking water still unavailable. He specifically mentioned Shah Mohalla, Wazpora, Karnai Mohalla, and Takipora in Naidkhai, stating that residents of these areas are facing an acute drinking water crisis and are forced to struggle daily for a basic necessity.

Majid urged the District Administration Bandipora and the Jal Shakti Department to take immediate and effective steps to restore water supply in these affected areas. He stressed that access to clean drinking water is a fundamental right and cannot be compromised under any circumstances.

On the occasion, several workers from different political parties joined the Usman Majid cadre, expressing their faith in his leadership and vision. Majid welcomed the new entrants and assured them of a people-centric approach focused on development, transparency, and accountability.

The gathering concluded with renewed enthusiasm among workers, reaffirming their commitment to work for the welfare and upliftment of the people of Sonawari.
