PAMPORE, April 15: Around 512 people availed medical consultations and basic treatment at a free medical camp organised by the 110 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) under its Civic Action Programme in Samboora area of Pampore in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Wednesday.

The camp was inaugurated by Commandant B.R. Meena in the presence of CRPF officials and local residents. According to officials, the initiative was aimed at providing healthcare access to underprivileged sections of the population.

A team of doctors examined patients and provided treatment during the camp. Free medicines were also distributed among the attendees. Beneficiaries included residents from Samboora and adjoining areas such as Karnabal, Patalbagh, Bujbagh and Alochibagh, with participation from women and elderly persons.

Officials said the camp was organised under the CRPF’s Civic Action Programme, also referred to as ‘Madadgaar’, which focuses on outreach activities including healthcare support for local communities.

Local residents attended the camp in significant numbers and received consultations for various ailments. Many participants said such initiatives help address basic healthcare needs, particularly for those with limited access to medical facilities.

A resident, Ghulam Nabi Dar, said the camp was beneficial for the community, especially for people from economically weaker sections. He said free medicines and consultations helped reduce the financial burden on families.

Commandant B.R. Meena said the camp was organised to provide timely assistance and support to people in need. He added that similar outreach programmes are conducted as part of the force’s efforts to engage with local communities and extend essential services.

Officials said the initiative forms part of continued efforts to provide basic healthcare support in areas where access to medical facilities may be limited. They added that such programmes are conducted periodically to reach a larger section of the population.
