Army Organises Special Cricket Match for Visually Impaired Youth in Nagam

Budgam, April 11: In a commendable initiative aimed at promoting inclusivity and confidence among specially-abled youth, the 53 Rashtriya Rifles Battalion organised a special cricket match for visually impaired youth at Government Boys Higher Secondary School Nagam.

The event was designed to integrate visually impaired youth into the mainstream by providing them a platform to showcase their abilities, build self-confidence, and develop a spirit of sportsmanship.

Participants enthusiastically took part in the match, which not only encouraged physical activity but also served as an opportunity for them to express their challenges and aspirations. The initiative reflected a strong commitment towards empowering differently-abled individuals and fostering their social inclusion.

Officials said the programme also helped strengthen civil-military cooperation while promoting the ethos of “Awam aur Fauj – Saath Saath.”

The organisers termed the event a meaningful and impactful step towards inclusive growth, noting that such initiatives play a crucial role in boosting morale and ensuring equal opportunities for all sections of society.
