Drug Peddler’s Illegal Structures Demolished on State Land in Pulwama

Pulwama, April 11: In a major crackdown against drug-related activities, the District Administration Pulwama carried out a bulldozer action in the Kunzipora (Rakhi Lajoora) area, demolishing illegal structures belonging to a notorious drug peddler.

Officials said the demolished properties included a shopping complex and a service station constructed on encroached state land. The action was part of an ongoing eviction drive aimed at retrieving government land under illegal occupation.

The operation comes amid the ongoing 100-day anti-drug अभियान launched to make Jammu and Kashmir “Nasha Mukt,” under which authorities have intensified measures against individuals involved in narcotics trade.

Earlier, the properties belonging to the accused, identified as Mukhtar Ahmad, had been attached by Pulwama Police in connection with FIR No. 41/2020 under relevant sections of the NDPS Act at Police Station Pulwama.

The attachment was carried out under Section 68-F(1) of the NDPS Act, 1985, following confirmation by the competent authority SAFEMA, New Delhi, vide order dated February 27, 2026.

Officials stated that strict action, including seizure, attachment, and demolition of illegally acquired properties, will continue against drug peddlers as part of a broader strategy to curb the menace and safeguard society.
