J&K Police Organises T20 Tournament at Awantipora

Awantipora, Feb 18: The Jammu and Kashmir Police under the aegis of the Civic Action Programme 2025–26 on Tuesday inaugurated a T20 knockout cricket tournament at District Police Lines (DPL) Awantipora.

The tournament was inaugurated by the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Awantipora in the presence of DySP DAR and other officers. Eight teams from different areas of Police District Awantipora are participating in the competition.

The inaugural match was played between Super Challengers Satopakhren and Mantaqi Sports Awantipora, drawing enthusiastic participation from players and spectators.

Interacting with the players on the occasion, the SSP said that J&K Police remains at the forefront of organising sports activities to channelise the energy of youth in a positive direction. He said such events foster competitive spirit, promote good health and help keep young people away from negative influences.

He further stated that more sports initiatives would be organised in Police District Awantipora in the coming months to encourage constructive engagement among the youth.
