Karnah, May 15: The second season of the Karnah Volleyball League concluded with great enthusiasm, sportsmanship and overwhelming participation from youth across Karnah, turning the border region into a vibrant hub of sporting activity and community engagement.
Organised by the Indian Army under Operation Buniyaad, the week-long tournament celebrated unity, discipline, teamwork and healthy competition along the Line of Control in north Kashmir.
The tournament witnessed participation from several teams representing different areas of Karnah and drew large crowds of spectators who gathered daily to support their favourite players. Throughout the league, athletes displayed remarkable talent, determination and sporting spirit, making the matches highly competitive and exciting.
The grand finale proved to be a thrilling contest, keeping spectators engaged till the very end. After an intense match, Karnah Volleyball Club emerged as the champions of Season II, earning appreciation for their outstanding teamwork and performance.
The event not only promoted sports culture in the border region but also provided a positive platform for local youth to engage in constructive activities. Through initiatives such as Operation Buniyaad, the Army continues to strengthen its bond with local communities by encouraging youth participation, talent development and confidence building.
Residents appreciated the efforts behind organising such events in remote border areas, saying sports tournaments help promote peace, brotherhood and motivation among young people. Participants also expressed hope that more such sporting events would be organised in the future.
Officials associated with the event said the aim of the tournament was to encourage physical fitness, sportsmanship and social cohesion while creating opportunities for youth beyond social and geographical barriers.
The tournament concluded with prize distribution ceremonies and celebrations, reaffirming the role of sports in promoting harmony, empowerment and positive engagement in border areas.
