Day with Company Commander: Army interacts with locals in Nayal Village
Bandipora, February 10: The officers of Indian Army stationed in Kanzalwan Village near Line of Control in Gurez Valley on Thursday visited several habitations of the area to know the well being of the citizens amid heavy snowfall.
An official spokesperson said after a heavy snow spell in the Kanzalwan area, an initiative "A Day with Company Commander '' was taken to interact with locals and understand their problems and to provide assistance. He said the Company Commander toured the eastern most village of the unit, Nayal village on 10 Feb 22.
“Company commander interacted with village elders and on request of the villagers medicines for common illness were distributed by BFNA” he said adding that precautions from fire accident and safety measures from Covid 19 were emphasised upon during the interaction. “Important telephone numbers were shared to provide assistance in case of contingencies”.
Officials said during the tour, village Maulvi and Imam were informed about various government policies and welfare schemes besides programs with regard to the modernisation of religious education in Madrasas and Maktabs.
Spokesperson said the villagers also raised the issue of lack of proper tuition facilities being provided in the Nayal school during winters due to the absence of government teachers employed. “Being a common concern raised by all villages in unit AOR the same will be Projected to district adm on next interaction.
According to the statement, "Project Recruitment" initiative at Kanzalwan by Army was again highlighted during the interaction and youth were motivated to avail this opportunity. Moreover the YouTube and twitter campaign " Kanzalwan: Heaven Beyond Valley'" was again highlighted to the youths of the village for boosting tourism in the coming summer season. “Locals highly appreciated the efforts of the Army towards ensuring holistic development and safety of the region”.
