Hajin, June 24: A one-day training programme on the MedLEaPR (Medico-Legal Examination and Post-Mortem Reporting) Portal was conducted at the Conference Hall of Community Health Centre (CHC) Hajin on Tuesday. The programme was organised by the Health Department in coordination with the State Nodal Officer for MedLEaPR under the guidance of the Chief Medical Officer Bandipora and Block Medical Officer Hajin.
The training programme was aimed at strengthening coordination between the Health and Police Departments and enhancing the understanding and effective utilisation of the MedLEaPR Portal for medico-legal and post-mortem case management.
Medical Officers and Investigation Officers (IOs) from various healthcare institutions and police stations across Block Hajin participated in the programme. Their active participation highlighted the importance of interdepartmental coordination in ensuring timely and accurate documentation of medico-legal and post-mortem cases through the digital platform.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by **Dr. Nabeel**, District Nodal Officer, MedLEaPR, who highlighted the significance of the portal in streamlining medico-legal documentation and facilitating seamless coordination between healthcare institutions and law enforcement agencies.
**Dr. Azia**, State Nodal Officer (MedLEaPR), delivered a detailed presentation on the portal, outlining its objectives, functionalities and operational workflow. Participants were briefed on registration procedures, case entry, data management, report generation and tracking of Medico-Legal Cases (MLCs) and Post-Mortem Cases (PMCs). The session also covered recent updates and mandatory compliance requirements related to portal usage.
During the training, Dr. Azia stressed the importance of maintaining accuracy, completeness and timeliness in data entry. He informed participants that all MLC and PMC cases must be processed exclusively through the MedLEaPR Portal and emphasized that the system is being closely monitored at both the State and Central levels. Participants were advised to ensure regular updates and strict adherence to prescribed timelines.
The programme also focused on the roles and responsibilities of Medical Officers, Investigation Officers and other stakeholders in the successful implementation of the portal. Special emphasis was laid on strengthening coordination between health institutions and police authorities to facilitate timely information sharing and completion of medico-legal formalities.
Practical demonstrations and case-based discussions were conducted to familiarise participants with portal operations and troubleshooting procedures. An interactive session allowed participants to raise queries regarding portal functionality, case processing, documentation requirements and technical challenges. The State Nodal Officer addressed these concerns and provided necessary guidance and clarifications.
Participants appreciated the training programme and described it as highly beneficial in enhancing their knowledge and skills related to medico-legal case management and digital reporting.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the State Nodal Officer, Medical Officers, Investigation Officers and all participants for their active involvement and cooperation.
The event ended with a collective commitment to ensure effective implementation, regular monitoring and optimal utilisation of the MedLEaPR Portal for efficient management of medico-legal and post-mortem cases across the district.
