DC Shahzad Alam Stresses Wider Coverage of Financial Inclusion Schemes in Kulgam

Kulgam, August 27: Deputy Commissioner Kulgam Shahzad Alam on Thursday chaired a meeting to review the implementation and progress of financial inclusion and social security schemes in the district.

During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed beneficiary coverage under various schemes and assessed mechanisms for identifying eligible people and facilitating their access to benefits and services.

The meeting covered the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY), Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) and Atal Pension Yojana (APY), among other financial inclusion and social security initiatives.

Concerned officers presented the latest status of implementation, achievements, issues requiring intervention and measures being taken to improve outreach and coverage.

Alam stressed the need for coordinated efforts among departments to ensure eligible people are identified and registered under financial inclusion and social security schemes. He also called for effective implementation of existing mechanisms to facilitate access to the benefits and services available under the schemes.

The meeting was attended by Chief Planning Officer Malik Suheel, Chief Medical Officer, Chief Education Officer, Lead District Manager, Chief Horticulture Officer, Chief Agriculture Officer, District Social Welfare Officer, Assistant Labour Commissioner and other concerned officers and officials.
