Anantnag Police Conduct Major Anti-Drug Operation; ₹25.50 Lakh Cash, 104 Grams of Charas Recovered, Drug Peddler Arrested

Anantnag, June 09: In its sustained and intensified drive against drug trafficking and the narcotics network, Anantnag Police achieved a significant success by recovering 104 grams of charas-like substance and ₹25.50 lakh in cash during a raid conducted at Tulkhan area of Bijbehara.

Acting on reliable information that a notorious drug peddler, Farooq Ahmad Dar S/o Ghulam Hassan Dar R/o Tulkhan, had concealed narcotics in his under-construction house at Tulkhan, a police team swiftly conducted a raid at the specified location.

During the search operation, 104 grams of charas-like sticks and cash amounting to ₹25,50,000 (Rupees Twenty-Five Lakh and Fifty Thousand only) were recovered from beneath boulders on the ground floor of the under-construction house.

In this regard, Case FIR No. 154/2026 under Section 8/20 of the NDPS Act was registered at the concerned police station, and investigation was immediately set into motion. The accused has been arrested in connection with the case.
