Bandipora, January 11:The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Shakeel Ul Rehman Rather, who is also Chairman District Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), Thursday convened a review meeting of the concerned to take stock of the works being executed under Jal Jeevan Mission.
The meeting informed that under the JJM program, 122 WS Schemes have been taken up for execution on mission mode in the district. It was further informed that the infrastructure consists of 38 Rapid Sand Filtration Plants, 22 Over Head Tanks, 18 Borewells, 106 Electro-Mechanical works & 161 pipe network, Service Reservoirs and allied works
It was further given that out of total 47358 FHTCs, 38495 households stand connected till date comprising 81.22 percent of the total target.
The chair was apprised that out of total 127555 total rural households, 70606 households shall be connected to supply tap water under various WSSs under JJM.
Moreover, 24 Water Supply Schemes have so far been completed & are under different stages of testing & commissioning. Besides other schemes are at various stages of completion & are expected to be completed before the closure of the current financial year 2023-24 subject to fair weather conditions, Presently 216 civil works & 92 Mechanical works are apace besides 13 Borewells stand drilled and are being developed.
The DC also took the detailed review of tendering process of the newly included Water Supply scheme under Left out portion under JJM, to which it was apprised to him that the same has been tendered and shall be allotted at an earliest
During the course of the meeting two more new works were given approval & authorised by the Chairman District Jal Jeevan Mission for its allotment & immediate starting of work.
He emphasized that all JJM works be executed on a fast track basis and instructed the concerned to conduct IEC activities through sign boards, hoardings, public announcements and public interactions programmes in all areas.
The meeting among others was attended by ADC Bandipora Umar Shafi, Superintending Engineer Hyd. Circle Bar/Bandipora, CPO, Executive Engineer Jal Shakti Department Bandipora/ Sopore, AEEs, DPMU JJM and other concerned officials of Jal Shakti Department.
