Bandipora, Feb 03: Achoora Blues- the Cricket team of Achoora village of Gurez Valley on Thursday won the snow cricket tournament in Gurez valley.
The cricket is being played on snow as the whole Gurez valley is engulfed in the blanket of snow.
In the final match played between KMCC Markoot and Achoora Blues at Markoot Village. KMCC Markoot scored 75 runs with Ishfaq and Abbas being best scorers. They scored 20 runs each.
While chasing the target of 76 runs, Achoora chased the target in 14th over. Imran played a brilliant innings of 28 runs besides taking a wicket. He was declared as man of the Match.
Mohammad Imran was adjudged as Man of the series. He scored 98 runs and took 6 wickets during the tournament.
Javid Ahmad of KMCC was adjudged as best batsman for scoring 102 runs in the tournament while Salahuddin of KMCC was adjudged as Best Bowler for taking 11 wickets in the tournament.
During the concluding ceremony Chairman Muzaffar Akhoon and Organiser Wajid Munawar was present on the occasion and gave away awards to the winning teams.
