2nd February 2021, Kashmir : Rouble Nagi Art Foundation is making a significant stride in the country as it initiates Misaal Kashmir to contribute towards the welfare of society in Kashmir. The NGO founded by Rouble Nagi is working towards the pressing concerns of the society including education, women empowerment, and employment, sanitisation and hygiene in slums and villages to make a difference. Expanding the footprint of the NGO and covering more people when aiding the country, the foundation now endeavours to transform the bastis/ areas and the villages of Kashmir over the next few months.
The initiative will focus on changing the face of underprivileged communities of the area. It further aims to establish enriching capacities for fostering the all-round transformation of the villages in Kashmir as the foundation productively collaborates and engages with municipal bodies and institutions.
Misaal Kashmir is a village/ slum transformation project, where artists/locals will be working to transform the community – by tapping the incredible local creative energy. The initiative has further been embraced by the city and witnessed a positive response in the support of the common aim.
Along with painting and beautification, the foundation will also be involved in cleaning the areas and holding workshops for hygiene and sanitation along with art camps for children who are interested in art. This initiative will make sure that people are aware of the importance of cleanliness, hygiene and sanitation, toilet use, waste management and how to keep their surroundings clean. Taking it a notch higher, the NGO is simultaneously aspiring to help across several verticals as it covers the concerns of women empowerment, health camp and other issues.
Commenting on the initiative, Rouble Nagi, Founder, Rouble Nagi Art Foundation, said,…
The end goal of the Misaal Kashmir is to establish and support e-Empowerment, e-Employment, e-Education. The initiative will set up several Vocational Training and Skill Development Centres to promote the idea of people being self-reliant. The objective for the foundation remains to impart knowledge and offer education for children along with providing skill development courses for youth and women. This shall further inspire people to live a self-reliant life of dignity and respect. These programmes provide marketable skills to the beneficiaries that can help them get competitive jobs. The campaign further aims to conduct women empowerment workshops to start skill development centres in slums/bastis, in order to make women independent. It will also be working towards the transformation of all municipal toilets through art promoting hygiene and sanitation.
