Bandipora, 28 Dec: The 8th Bandipora district Badminton tournament 2020 concluded here at Sher Kashmir Stadium Bandipora on Monday.
During the finals 10 matches were played. In the senior category Mohsin Hamid defeated Shaqat Ali by 11-3 and 11-8 thus claiming senior category.
In senior-Girls Shaqat defeated Sabahat by 11-7 and 11-7. In Under-19 Boys Ibrahim defeated Faizan while in sub-Junior-Boys Mohammad Suhaib Owaise Gulzar and Mohammed Umair claimed 1st 2nd and 3rd place respectively. In the mini group Mohammed Usaid and Anam Imtayaz claimed 1st and 2nd place respectively.
Ishfaq Alam DySp DAR, Dr Gh Qadir District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Satinder Singh Manager SK Stadium Bandipora, In-charge ground, Peerzada Khurshid Shaheen DySSO, GH Mohammed chairman HSA Muzaffar Ahmad Senior vice president of Association Feroz coach were dignitaries who graced the occasion.
Later on DYSP DAR and District Sports Officer distributed the prizes among winners and runners of the event. Iftikhar Rashid completed the proceedings.
