Khrew Beat Shar Shali by 12 Runs to Win CRPF Cricket Tournament

Pampore, October 09: The 185 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) organised a cricket tournament at Khrew under its Civic Action Programme, aiming to promote sportsmanship, discipline and camaraderie among local youth while strengthening ties between the force and the local community.

Four teams—Gujjar Kings, United Cricket Club Shar Shali, W.C.C. Mandakpal and Cricket Team Khrew—participated in the tournament with great enthusiasm and sporting spirit.

The final was played between Khrew and Shar Shali, in which Khrew emerged victorious by 12 runs to clinch the title.

The tournament provided local youth with an opportunity to showcase their sporting talent and encouraged them to engage in constructive activities. The event also served as a platform to foster mutual trust, friendship and cooperation between the CRPF and the local population, CRPF officials told Kashmir Convener.

Commandant Hemant, Second-in-Command D.D. Chourasiya, Assistant Commandants Mukesh Kumar and Zile Singh, SDPO Pampore R.P. Singh, SHO Khrew Naeem Rashid, other officers of the 185 Battalion CRPF and local dignitaries were present on the occasion.

The chief guest and other dignitaries distributed prizes among the winning and runner-up teams and appreciated the participants for displaying enthusiasm, discipline and sportsmanship throughout the tournament.

The 185 Battalion CRPF reiterated its commitment to engaging with the local population through various Civic Action Programmes and encouraging young people to participate in sports, maintain discipline and pursue positive and constructive activities.
