#Festive fun: Bandipora admin treat Special children to special Iftar

Bandipora, May 30: While most of the people celebrate the Iftar with their families at home, the district administration Bandipora decided to celebrate it with special kids by and ensure a smile on their faces.

          Chief Education Office Bandipora organized an Iftar party  for orphan and  specially-abled children studying in different government schools of the district.

Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza and Chief Education Officer Javid Iqbal along with other officers served the food to the children and then had Iftar and dinner together.

The Iftar was organized at High School Bagh and was attended by more than a hundred children including boys and girls. The officers welcomed the children and received them with love and affection.

The officers served fruits, dates and juice for the Iftar and then students and the officers together sat to say prayer before breaking the fast together.

After the Iftar, the students and the officers offered prayers in congregation at the school hall. Later the dinner was served to the students. The officers and the students later enjoyed their meals on the same ‘Dasterkhan’ sitting on the floor in the traditional way.

Deputy Commissioner Bandipora said that it was the foirst of its kind event wherein the district administration changed the trend of Iftar party and instead the administration acted as a host for the kids and it was an amazing experience to share the smiles with little angels and to break the fast in the company of little angels.

He said  he found the kids brilliant during his interaction with them and he is sure that they will be pride of Bandipora in near future. HE said the aim of  organizing such event was to improve relation between the community and the orphan students and to build a sense of belongingness among them.

He stressed upon the teaching community that the young and innocent souls who face several challenges in life must be brought up with all passion care and extra love.

The Chief education officer Bandipora Javid Iqbal Wani urged the teachers to treat such students in a way that their self respect and dignity is not compromised.

At the culmination of the programme the students clicked selfies with the officers and thanked them for the party.  On the occasion teachers and locals who had gathered on the occasion praised the district administrations for this humanly move particularly in the month of holy Ramdhan.

Mufti Nissar Ahmad, a teacher at High School Bagh while  thanking the officers for hosting the party, said Islam preaches  support for resourcesless and marginalised section as a collective responsibility of the ummah.
