Shopian, Mar 27: Suspected militants released a video of a youth after putting him to death for his alleged involvement in anti-militancy operations.
The youth who was identified as Tanvir Ahmed Dar of Bemnipora was shot dead in Kachdoora area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district.
The video released by suspected militants that is viral on social media shows the victim confessing his role. He claims that an Army Major promised him Rs 60,000 for providing information about the presence of militants and when he did his job, the Army Major instead of cash supplied him two cigarettes of charas.
Sources said that the victim was picked up by militants when he was walking alone on the road.
Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir police issued a statement regarding the killing and said that militants shot dead a civilian at Kachdoora area in District Shopian.
The spokesperson while identifying the victim as Tanveer Ahmad Dar resident of Bemnipora said that: “Police has registered a case and officers are at the spot and continue to work to establish circumstances of this crime.”
