Srinagar, Mar 13, CNS: A number of contractors Wednesday alleged that an Executive Engineer in league with Self Help Engineering Group is looting the resources of Lakes and Waterways Development Authority (LAWDA). They said despite being transferred authorities at LAWDA are not relieving him.
A delegation of contractors told news agency CNS that recently government issued a transfer order for Executive Engineer Lake Division 2nd but authorities are not relieving him for conspicuous reasons. “This officer takes Self Help Engineering Group into confidence before issuing any tender. He does it to fill his coffers. The irony is that despite being transferred, he continues to rule the roost,” they said.
They said the said officer in past had been suspended from the service owing his dubious record. “How can LAWDA assign him a job that he is unfit for and how he is being allowed to mint money without any accountability,” they said.
VC LAWDA Prasana Rangaswami assured he would look into the matter while Secretary LAWDA Muhammad Sayeed Khan said that the officer in question will be relieved without any delay.
