SRINAGAR, AUGUST 15: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on the occasion of the 80th Independence Day extended warm greetings and good wishes to the people of Jammu and Kashmir, paying tribute to the leaders, freedom fighters and martyrs who made sacrifices during India’s freedom struggle.
In his message, the Lieutenant Governor expressed gratitude to the Armed Forces, paramilitary forces, police and other agencies for their relentless efforts to safeguard the nation’s sovereignty and integrity. He also paid homage to the brave personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty.
LG Sinha felicitated the farmers, workers, business community, scientists, teachers, innovators, craftsmen, civil society groups, Nari Shakti and Yuva Shakti of Jammu and Kashmir for their contribution to the growth and development of the Union Territory.
He called upon the people to cherish the diversity that strengthens the nation while safeguarding its unity and integrity.
“Let us cherish the diversity behind our strength, while fiercely protecting our national unity and integrity at any cost,” the Lieutenant Governor said, describing this as the core message of Independence Day.
Highlighting Jammu and Kashmir’s development journey, LG Sinha said the Union Territory had firmly embarked on a path of rapid socio-economic growth and witnessed remarkable progress over the past few years.
He said J&K had received a powerful developmental boost, with several mega projects nearing completion, while work on key infrastructure initiatives was progressing at a swift pace.
According to the Lieutenant Governor, the ongoing infrastructure push would ensure that the benefits of development reach every corner of the Union Territory. He expressed confidence that Jammu and Kashmir would scale new heights of prosperity in the near future.
On the occasion, LG Sinha called upon citizens to renew their commitment to collective progress and work towards building a strong, self-reliant and developed Jammu and Kashmir.
He urged the people to join hands in safeguarding peace and prosperity, expressing confidence that the day was fast approaching when Jammu and Kashmir would emerge as one of the leading developed regions in the country and make a significant contribution to the vision of a developed India.
