Sakeena Itoo Holds Public Darbar in Anantnag, Reviews Healthcare and Education Issues

Anantnag, May 20: Minister for Health and Medical Education, Social Welfare and Education, Sakeena Itoo on Wednesday held a Public Darbar at Dak Bungalow Khanabal in Anantnag, where she met several public delegations from Anantnag and Kulgam districts and listened to a range of public grievances and developmental demands.

 

During the interaction, delegations comprising local residents, social activists and community representatives raised several issues related to healthcare, education and public welfare in their respective areas. They sought strengthening of healthcare facilities, deployment of additional medical and paramedical staff and improvement in infrastructure at hospitals and educational institutions.

The delegations also demanded installation of modern medical equipment, including X-Ray plants, ECG machines and ultrasound facilities in peripheral hospitals. They further sought availability of specialist doctors, particularly ENT specialists and pediatricians, to improve healthcare services in rural and far-flung areas.

Several delegations also highlighted the need for construction of new school buildings, hospital blocks and upgradation of basic facilities in schools and health institutions.

Giving a patient hearing to the delegations, the Minister assured that all genuine issues and developmental demands would be examined on priority for appropriate redressal.

She said the Government remains committed towards equitable development and strengthening of healthcare and education sectors across Jammu and Kashmir to ensure quality services for people at the grassroots level.

Sakeena Itoo emphasized that public outreach programmes provide an important platform for direct interaction with citizens and help the Government understand local issues more effectively.

The delegations appreciated the Minister for personally hearing their grievances and expressed hope

that their demands would be addressed in a phased and time-bound manner.

On the sidelines of the programme, the Minister also reviewed implementation of various welfare schemes and developmental projects with officers of Anantnag and Kulgam districts.

She directed the officers to ensure timely follow-up on issues raised during the Public Darbar and instructed them to organise monthly public outreach programmes for regular monitoring and redressal of public grievances.
