PM SHRI School Laharwalpora holds career counselling session, plantation drive

Bandipora, May 16: PM SHRI Government Secondary School Laharwalpora in Bandipora on Friday organised a career counselling session along with a plantation drive aimed at promoting career awareness and environmental responsibility among students.

The programme was attended by resource persons Syed Naseem Geelani and Bilal Ahmad Bhat, who interacted with students and shared guidance on education, career planning and personal development.

Officials said the initiative aimed to promote environmental awareness and encourage students to contribute towards building a greener and sustainable future.

The counselling session was attended by students of classes 8th, 9th and 10th. Addressing the students, Prof. Syed Naseem Geelani spoke about various career opportunities available in science and humanities streams after Class 12 and graduation. He advised students to choose career paths according to their interests, abilities and aspirations.

During the interaction, many girl students expressed interest in pursuing careers in the medical field, while several boy students showed inclination towards joining the defence services.

Prof. Bilal Ahmad Bhat highlighted the importance of consistency, discipline, dedication and integrity in achieving success. He encouraged students to remain focused on their goals and continue working hard towards their ambitions.

Earlier, Head of the Institution Javaid Jawad welcomed the visiting scientists and urged students to learn from their experiences and achievements.

Following the counselling session, the school organised a plantation drive under the theme “One Student, One Sapling” within the school premises. As part of the initiative, 46 students of Class 6th planted 46 saplings.

In an effort to encourage environmental responsibility, each sapling was named after the student who planted it. The students pledged to care for and protect their respective plants during their academic years in the school.
