Bharat Scouts & Guides Organise Anti-Drug Rally in Ganderbal

Ganderbal, May 2: In line with the nationwide campaign Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, a large-scale anti-drug awareness rally was organised on Saturday by the Bharat Scouts and Guides, District Headquarters Ganderbal, in collaboration with the School Education Department.

The event was held under the guidance of the District Administration and the leadership of LG Manoj Sinha, aiming to sensitise youth and the general public about the harmful effects of substance abuse and promote a drug-free society.

The rally was flagged off from Boys High School Tullmula in the presence of the Chief Education Officer Ganderbal, Deputy CEO, Principal GHSS Tullmula, and SHO Khir Bhawani Police Station. Prior to the march, participants took a pledge reaffirming their commitment to eradicating drug abuse.

A large number of participants, including Rovers, Rangers, Scouts, Guides, and teaching staff, joined the rally with enthusiasm. The procession passed through various residential areas of Tullmula, displaying banners and placards carrying anti-drug messages such as “Say No to Drugs, Yes to Life.”

Sharing his experience, Rover Inayat Nazir said, “Being part of this rally made me realise how important it is for youth to stand united against drug abuse. We are not just spreading awareness but also taking responsibility for building a healthier society.”

District Secretary, Bharat Scouts and Guides Ganderbal, Lateef Ahmad, said, “The Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan is not merely a campaign but a collective responsibility. Through such initiatives, we aim to empower youth to become ambassadors of change and contribute towards a drug-free society.”

Adding further, Inayat Mushtaq, Joint District Secretary, BSG Ganderbal, remarked, “Our youth have a crucial role in shaping a drug-free future. Through collective efforts like this rally, we are not only raising awareness but also inspiring communities to take a firm stand against substance abuse.”

The rally culminated at the Central University Campus, where participants reiterated their resolve to combat drug abuse.

The event witnessed active public engagement, with local residents responding positively. It also highlighted effective coordination among the Bharat Scouts and Guides, the School Education Department, and the District Administration.

Officials stated that such initiatives play a vital role in strengthening the fight against drug abuse and fostering a healthier society.
