District Volleyball Championship Concludes at Army Goodwill School Hajin

BANDIPORA, APRIL 24: The District Bandipora Volleyball Championship 2026 concluded on Friday at the Army Goodwill School Hajin, with Star Volleyball Club SK Bala defeating Super Spikers Zinipora 2–1 in the final to win the title.

The two-day tournament was organised by the District Volleyball Association Bandipora and witnessed participation from around 16 teams representing different areas of Bandipora. Matches were held over two days, culminating in the final contest between the two teams.

Officials said the event saw participation from local players and drew attendance from sports enthusiasts and community members. The final match was decided in three sets, with Star Volleyball Club SK Bala securing a 2–1 victory to lift the championship trophy.

The closing ceremony was attended by Chief Guest B. S. Bhati, Lieutenant Colonel of 13 Rashtriya Rifles, who distributed trophies among winners, participants and officials. In his address, he highlighted the role of sports in youth development and encouraged participation in such activities.

Among those present were Mir Salim, Station House Officer Hajin, and Malik Khazir Mohammed, Principal of Army Goodwill School Hajin, who attended the ceremony as guests of honour.

Organisers said the championship aimed to provide a platform for local talent and promote sports at the district level. They added that such events also contribute to community engagement and encourage constructive activities among youth.

Participants and officials noted that the tournament concluded without incident and reflected coordinated efforts between organisers and local stakeholders.
