GGHSS Bandipora Team Wins State-Level Wipro Earthian Award

Bandipora, September 8: A team of Government Girls Higher Secondary School (GGHSS), Bandipora, comprising five students and two mentor teachers, was felicitated by the Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) on Tuesday after winning the state-level award under the Waste and Sustainability category of the Wipro Earthian Programme.

Director School Education Kashmir Naseer Ahmad Wani felicitated Principal Jawaid Ahmad Magray, mentor teachers Tanveer Shafi Wani and Farah Deeba, and students Mir Aaqida Subhan, Munazah Hilal, Rabiya, Saniya and Zarqa at the DSEK office.

The recognition was given for the school’s performance in the Wipro Earthian Programme, which focuses on themes related to sustainability and environmental awareness.

The achievement was also acknowledged by Chief Education Officer Bandipora Rafeeq Ahmad Mir and Deputy Chief Education Officer Bandipora G.M. Puju, who congratulated the school principal, mentor teachers and participating students.

The officials appreciated the efforts of the students and teachers and highlighted the importance of involving students in activities related to environmental sustainability and responsible citizenship.

The state-level recognition adds to the school’s participation in programmes focused on environmental awareness and sustainability. The school said the achievement reflected the work undertaken by the student team under the guidance of its mentor teachers.

The Wipro Earthian Programme is an initiative focused on sustainability education and encourages students and schools to work on environmental issues through projects and learning activities.

The school said the recognition would encourage its students to participate in similar initiatives and undertake activities related to environmental conservation and sustainable practices.
