Indian Army Holds Lecture on Drug Abuse and Narco-Terrorism in Reasi
Reasi, May 6: In a continued effort to raise awareness about the rising threat of drug abuse and narco-terrorism, the Indian Army organized a special lecture session in the remote village of Shikari in Reasi district.
The session, attended by local youth and community members, focused on educating participants about the harmful consequences of drug addiction on individuals and society. Army officials, in collaboration with medical professionals, discussed the physical, psychological, and social impact of substance abuse, while encouraging the adoption of a healthy and disciplined lifestyle.
Participants actively engaged in the discussions, seeking guidance on preventive strategies and rehabilitation options. The initiative also highlighted the critical role that families, educators, and the wider society must play in addressing this growing menace.
A spokesperson from the Army said the initiative is part of broader social welfare efforts aimed at empowering local communities through education and awareness. “The Indian Army remains committed to building a drug-free, healthy and prosperous society,” the spokesperson stated.
Such outreach programs reinforce the Army’s dedication not only to national security but also to the welfare and upliftment of the local population.
