Pampore, March 14: Ten persons including six minor students, were injured in a road accident on the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway near Chandhara Crossing Pampore in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Friday afternoon, officials Kashmir Convener.
The accident occurred between a school Van registration number JK01AF/9470 carrying students and an Innova vehicle registration number JK02DD/6767. Among the injured were six students from Khadija Tul Kubra Memorial Public School Barsoo, Awantipora.
The injured were immediately shifted to SDH Pampore, from where one student and the driver of the Tavera were referred to a hospital in Srinagar for further treatment, officials told Kashmir Convener.
Police officials, led by SDPO Pampore Ravenderpal Singh and SHO Pampore Nayeem Rashid Bhat, arrived at the hospital soon after the injured were shifted to SDH Pampore.
Officials identified the six students traveling in the School Van as Muntazir Faroor (12) son of Farooq Ahmad Mir, Aishya Noor (05) daughter of Mohd Rafiq Bhat, Toiba Qadir (07) daughter of Sartaj Ganie, Mohammad Ibhraim Lone (05) son of Parvaiz Ahmad, Mohammad Abrar (13) son of Ghulam Hassan Ganie and Zanib (08) daughter of Altaf Hussain Ganie, All residents of Chandhara Pampore and School Van driver identified as Farooz Ahmad Kuchy (50) son Ghulam Nabi, resident of Barsoo Awantipora.
Four persons other injured persons traveling in Inova vehicle identified as Toiba Mushtaq (22) daughter of Mushtaq Ahmad Bhat, Asrar Mushtaq (24) son of Mushtaq Ahmad Bhat. Both residents of Noorani Colony Pampore. Driver of the Inova vehicle was identified as Vijay Kumar (48) son of Shamshair Kumar, resident of Jammu.
Talking to Kashmir Convener, Registered Medical Officer of SDH Pampore, Dr. Bilal Ahmad, said that they received a total of 10 injured persons, including 6 school children and 4 adults. After providing treatment at SDH Pampore, two injured persons, including one school child, were referred to Srinagar hospital for further treatment.
The remaining eight injured persons were in stable condition and were discharged from the hospital.
