Bandipora, Sept 21: Twelve teams advanced to the next round of the Maj Gopi Singh Rathore, SC Memorial North Kashmir Football Premier League 2025–26 after a series of Round of 24 matches were played at Baba Karim Football Stadium and Adnan Football Stadium in Bandipora on Monday.
At Baba Karim Football Stadium, Hashmee FC Bandipora defeated Kaloosa FC 1-0, while Panthers United FC edged past Royal Strikers Kulhama by the same margin.
Friends FC registered a 3-0 victory over Iqbal FC, while Northall United FC defeated Etihad FC Sadunara 4-1. Al Hanan FC beat Sultania FC Kaloosa 3-0, while FC Dachigam advanced after receiving a walkover against Kashmir Sporting FC.
At Adnan Football Stadium, Muslim FC recorded the biggest win of the day, defeating Bandipora Strikers 6-1. Sports Club Bandipora beat Syed FC Ajar 4-0, while WAFC Watapora defeated Chuntimula Titans 5-0.
Hadood FC advanced after a walkover against Pomposh Kulhama FC. Harmukh FC defeated Safapora FC 6-4, while Papchan FC progressed after a walkover against Football Club Sonawari.
The Round of 16 matches will be played from 8 am on September 22.
A total of 68 teams are participating in the tournament, including 28 teams from Bandipora district.
Players participating in the tournament expressed gratitude to the Indian Army for organising the competition annually, saying it provides young people an opportunity to use their leisure time productively while showcasing and developing their footballing talent.
The players said regular competitions also motivate them to undergo rigorous practice and improve their skills.
