Weatherman predicts heavy snowfall in Chenab Valley from Tuesday; Light to moderate snowfall likely in South

Srinagar, Jan 27 (KNO): The weatherman on Monday predicted heavy snowfall in Chenab Valley and light to moderate snowfall in southern districts of Kashmir tomorrow (Tuesday).

According to the wire service—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Deputy Director of local Meteorological department (MeT), Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad said that there is possibility of heavy snowfall in Chenab Valley areas while as light to moderate rain or snowfall would occur in southern districts of Kashmir.

Ahmad further stated that according to the prediction, the central and northern districts of Kashmir would experience light rain or snowfall from Tuesday morning.

He also added that the wet weather would continue to be witnessed across Kashmir till January 28 (Wednesday) forenoon, saying that as of now, the MeT predicts dry spell for a week from Wednesday afternoon.

Ahmad further stated that the night temperature has although improved in Kashmir from last night, but it would continue to remain improved in upcoming days.

Pertinently, Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir this year experienced heaviest snowfall after four decades while as adequate snowfall was witnessed in Kashmir since November last year, resulting in frequent closure of Srinagar-Jammu highway. (KNO
