Miran Sahib, October 30: The War Wounded Foundation (WWF) distributed a modified scooter and a battery-operated wheelchair to war-disabled soldiers during an Ex-Servicemen Rally held at Miran Sahib on Friday.

The initiative was aimed at improving mobility, independence and the quality of life of soldiers who sustained disabilities while serving the nation.

Brigadier Harcharan Singh (Retd), Director, North Zone, WWF, said the foundation had distributed 100 modified scooters and 12 auto-rickshaws among disabled soldiers across the northern states and Union Territories.

In another welfare initiative, the foundation is extending financial assistance to a disabled soldier to establish a poultry farm, with the aim of promoting self-employment and economic independence.

The foundation also focuses on psychological support, motivation and rehabilitation to help disabled soldiers regain confidence, overcome challenges and lead independent lives.

Through its initiatives, the WWF seeks to support war-disabled soldiers by providing mobility assistance and creating opportunities for sustainable livelihoods, guided by its philosophy of “Converting Disability into Ability.”
