The 60-hour internship programme has been designed to provide young women with a platform to explore creativity, enhance communication skills and build confidence through theatre, music, dance, creative writing, voice and speech training, yoga, personality development and leadership-oriented activities.

The inaugural ceremony was attended by Principal GCW Parade Ground, Dr. Naveen Anand, as the chief guest. Faculty members, artists, mentors and students from both colleges were also present.

Addressing the participants, Dr. Anand lauded Rangyug for promoting experiential learning through performing arts and said such initiatives are closely aligned with the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which emphasizes holistic, multidisciplinary and skill-based education. He said performing arts help nurture creativity, communication skills, critical thinking, teamwork and leadership qualities among students.

He further observed that programmes like SIP provide young women with opportunities for self-expression, confidence-building and innovation while contributing to their overall personality development and preparedness for real-world challenges.

Speaking on the occasion, Deepak Kumar, Director of Rangyug, described the internship as a journey of self-discovery and personal growth. He said the programme aims to develop confident individuals capable of critical thinking, effective communication and meaningful contribution to society through arts and cultural engagement.

Over the years, SIP has emerged as one of Rangyug’s flagship educational initiatives, offering students opportunities to learn from experienced artists, educators, performers and media professionals through workshops, practical sessions, performances and interactive learning activities.

With a carefully designed curriculum and a distinguished panel of mentors, SIP-2026 is expected to provide participants with valuable exposure to diverse artistic disciplines while strengthening their confidence, creativity and leadership abilities.

The programme reaffirms Rangyug’s commitment to using arts and culture as tools for education, empowerment, self-realisation and social transformation.
