IGP Kashmir Reviews Security, Logistical Arrangements at Baltal Base Camp for SANJY 2026

Ganderbal, June 4: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir, Shri V.K. Birdi, on Thursday reviewed security and logistical arrangements at the Baltal Base Camp in preparation for the forthcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2026.

 

The IGP was accompanied by Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Central Kashmir Range, Shri Rajiv Pandey, and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ganderbal, Shri Sudhanshu Dhama.

During the visit, the officers inspected various facilities established for personnel of the Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) deployed for Yatra duties. The review focused on the preparedness of security infrastructure, accommodation facilities, communication networks and other essential arrangements at the base camp.

 

The IGP assessed the ongoing preparations and directed officers to ensure that all arrangements are completed well before the commencement of the annual pilgrimage.

 

Emphasising the importance of seamless coordination among all agencies involved, Shri Birdi stressed the need for maintaining the highest standards of preparedness to ensure a safe, secure and hassle-free Yatra for pilgrims.

 

He also instructed the concerned officers to closely monitor the progress of works and address any issues on priority to ensure smooth execution of security and logistical plans.

 

Ganderbal Police reiterated its commitment to providing a secure environment and facilitating the smooth conduct of the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2026.
