Pulwama Youth Clinches Gold at 12th Mt. Everest International Karate Championship 2026

Pulwama, May 31: In a moment of immense pride for District Pulwama and the entire Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir, talented karate player Firdoos Ahmad Lone from Shahpora Tral, Pulwama, brought laurels to the nation by winning a Gold Medal at the prestigious 12th Mt. Everest International Karate Championship 2026 held in Kathmandu, Nepal.

Competing in the highly competitive 68 kg weight category, Firdoos displayed exceptional skill, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the championship. He successfully defeated opponents from Nepal and Sri Lanka in the preliminary rounds before overcoming a strong challenger from Bangladesh in the final bout to secure the coveted gold medal.

His remarkable achievement has been widely appreciated by sports enthusiasts, coaches, and members of the sporting fraternity. The victory reflects the growing talent and potential of athletes from Jammu & Kashmir and serves as an inspiration for aspiring sportspersons across the region.
