Pampore Police Tightens National Highway Vigil for Amarnath Yatra

PAMPORE, June 03: Pampore Police conducted a special naka operation at various locations along the Srinagar–Jammu National Highway in South Kashmir’s Police District Awantipora on Wednesday in view of the forthcoming Annual Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra.

 

The checking operation was carried out as part of heightened security arrangements aimed at ensuring the safety and security of pilgrims as well as the general public during the annual pilgrimage, an official said.

During the drive, police personnel thoroughly checked vehicles, verified documents, and monitored the movement of suspicious persons. Security officials also sensitized commuters about the importance of cooperation during security checks.

 

Police officials told Kashmir Convener that such checking drives will continue across the district in the coming days to maintain vigilance and strengthen security ahead of the Sri Amarnath Ji Yatra. They urged the public to cooperate with law enforcement agencies.

 

Police officials said that the department remains committed to ensuring the peaceful, secure, and smooth conduct of the Annual Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra and has put in place comprehensive security arrangements to facilitate the pilgrimage.
