NM Boys Hr Sec School Conducts Student Elections

Bandipora, May 4: The campus of NM Boys Higher Secondary School, Bandipora, witnessed an atmosphere of excitement and democratic fervour today as the institution successfully conducted elections for various student posts, providing learners with firsthand experience of the electoral process.

The elections were held for key positions including Secretary, Deputy Secretary, Discipline Secretary, Sports Secretary, Cultural Secretary, and Class Representatives. A total of 503 students from Classes 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th across different streams participated enthusiastically in the voting process. Notably, the polling was conducted smoothly, with only one vote being rejected.

The election process commenced on April 28, 2026, with the filing of nominations, followed by the scrutiny of documents on April 29. April 30 was designated as the withdrawal date, while polling was successfully held on May 4.

To ensure transparency and efficiency, various committees were constituted, including polling teams, election officials, logistics, supervisory staff, presiding officers, and counting personnel. The entire exercise was meticulously managed by the school staff. Ishfaq Anjum Samoon (Sr. Lecturer, Poltical science) served as the Chief Election Commissioner, while Arif Ahmad Khan (Teacher) acted as the Election Commissioner.

The Head of Institution, Reyaz Ahmad Lone, appreciated the collective efforts of the staff in conducting the elections in a smooth and organized manner. He emphasized that such initiatives play a vital role in instilling democratic values, leadership qualities, and a sense of responsibility among students.
In the final results, a student from Class 12th Anaharul Islam (Medical Stream) was elected as Secretary, while Usayd Halim Baba of Class 12th (Humanities Stream) secured the position of Deputy Secretary.

The event concluded on a high note, reinforcing the importance of participatory governance and student leadership within the school environment.
