Shopian–Rajouri, May 4: The historic Mughal Road has been closed for vehicular movement following fresh snowfall at Peer Ki Gali on Monday, officials said.
The sudden spell of snowfall led to slippery conditions and reduced visibility along the high-altitude stretch, prompting authorities to suspend traffic as a precautionary measure to ensure public safety.
Officials said snow clearance operations will be taken up once the weather improves, and the road will be reopened after it is declared safe for travel.
Commuters have been advised to avoid travel on the route and follow official advisories for further updates.
