Lt Gen Vivek Dogra Highlights Digital Resilience at WTISD 2026 Seminar

New Delhi, May 18: Lieutenant General Vivek Dogra, SM, Signal Officer-in-Chief, Ministry of Defence, attended the World Telecommunication and Information Society Day (WTISD 2026) seminar organised by the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) at the IETE Campus, Lodhi Road, on Monday evening.

An official spokesperson said the event was organised around the theme “Digital Lifelines – Strengthening Resilience in a Connected World” and focused on the importance of secure communications and resilient digital infrastructure in an increasingly connected environment.

Lt Gen Vivek Dogra attended the programme as the Chief Guest and addressed the gathering on the strategic importance of strengthening digital communication systems and securing critical infrastructure in the interest of national security.

During his address, he highlighted the growing relevance of resilient communication networks and emphasized the need for robust digital systems capable of supporting secure and uninterrupted connectivity.
The seminar was organised under the leadership of IETE President Sunil and brought together experts and stakeholders from the telecommunications, technology and academic sectors.

Chief Executive Officer of C-DOT R.K. Upadhyay, Deputy Director General BSNL Anil Bhardwaj and Ajay Rana from Amity University  participated in the panel discussion .

Discussions during the session focused on emerging communication technologies, digital resilience and challenges associated with secure connectivity in the modern era.

Spokesperson said the event marked the observance of World Telecommunication and Information Society Day, which is commemorated globally to highlight the role of communication and information technologies in social and economic development.
