LFB urged literary organization to fight anti-Kashmiri moves in unison
Castigates bigger forums on adopting criminal silence on ‘script issue’
Bandipora, Oct 10: Literary Forum Bandipora on Monday urged all the linguistic organizations across Kashmir to oppose the anti-Kashmiri policies in unison.
Forum in a statement said that changing the script of the Kashmiri language can prove disastrous for the linguistic and cultural identity which needs to be contained before it can lead to the destruction of our linguistic identity.
The forum said that the issue of Kashmiri script is being unnecessarily politicized to destroy the secular fabric of the nation.
Kashmir has a unique literary, philosophical and cultural identity that needs to be preserved in a proper way to provide space for all sects' thoughts and ideas but not at the cost of one identity, Forum said.
Following the day-long literary meet here in Arin Bandipora, forum members and representatives pledge to fight any move that can damage the linguistic identity.
“The Kashmiri Language has its distinctive script of Nastaliq, fiddling with this script will lead to the loss of all literary treasurers written in the language”
“Any move that can lead to the damage of linguistic identity will be fought with the force” Statement said.
Castigating the role of leading literary cum cultural organizations across Kashmir forum said it is a matter of shame that the representatives of the largest literary organization have adopted criminal silence over the sensitivity issue of script change”
Mentioning the name of AMK J&K and other organizations, forum members urged that representatives of such effective and historical organizations should uphold the tradition of their ancestors while fighting the anti-Kashmiri moves.
“Instead of internal bickering representatives in AMK should come up with the strong strategy and program to fight anti-Kashmiri moves”
Later a poetic session sponsored by the District Information Department was conducted in the lawns of Shokhbaba. Poets who participated in the session include Tair Hassan, Mir Tariq, G M Zahid, Rashid Ragib, Mubashir Muztarib, Irshad Ahmed, Rouf Gayal, Shah Sabnum, G M Gulal, Bilal Rehmani, Manzor Kiyasi, Maroof Ahmed, Muneer Ahmed, Firdous Ahmed, Yousuf Khayiat.
The session was presided by Mir Tariq Rasool Vice President LFB, the proceedings were conducted by Mansoor Muntazir. Two Resolutions of condolence were passed following the untimely death of Mashal Sultan Puri Patron AMK and Abdu Hameed Sofi paternal Uncle of President LFB Sufi Showkat.
