Deputy Commissioner Kulgam Shahzad Alam, wednesday chaired a review meeting to assess the functioning of the Department of Youth Services & Sports, Kulgam.
The meeting was attended by the Additional Deputy Commissioner Kulgam Vikar Ahmad Giri, District Youth Services & Sports Officer (DYSSO), all Zonal Physical Education Officers (ZPEOs), and other concerned officers.
During the meeting, the DYSSO presented a detailed overview of the department’s activities, achievements, and the implementation status of various schemes and programmes across the district.
The Deputy Commissioner reviewed the progress made under different initiatives, including sports infrastructure development, youth engagement programmes, school sports activities, fitness campaigns, e-Portal registration, NMBA activities, and other departmental achievements.
DC Kulgam stressed the importance of promoting sports at the grassroots level, ensuring maximum participation of students and youth, maintaining sports infrastructure, and strengthening coordination among field functionaries.
Deputy Commissioner directed the officers to ensure timely implementation of all departmental programmes, maintain accurate records through digital platforms, and focus on improving the quality of sports facilities and youth-oriented activities across the district.
He encouraged the department to continue working with the same commitment and enthusiasm to further strengthen sports culture and youth engagement throughout the district.
