DC Bandipora Reviews MPLADS Works, Directs Officers to Expedite Process

Bandipora, July 07: The Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Indu Kanwal Chib today reviewed the progress of works being executed under the Members of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS) at a meeting held at the VC Room, Mini Secretariat, Bandipora.

During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner took a department-wise review of the works being implemented under the scheme and directed the executing agencies to speed up the pace of work and ensure timely completion of all projects.

The Deputy Commissioner stressed the need for close coordination among the concerned departments so that the works are completed without unnecessary delay for the benefit of the public.

It was informed in the meeting that a total of 30 works were taken up under the 2025-26 MPLADS. Of these, 15 works are being executed by the Rural Development Department (RDD), 6 by the Public Works Department (R&B), 3 by the Youth Services & Sports Department, and 1 by the Municipal Council. It was further informed that work on most projects is either ongoing or has already been completed, while 5 works remain pending.

The Deputy Commissioner directed all concerned officers to closely monitor the progress of the remaining works and ensure their completion within the stipulated timeframe. She emphasized that timely execution of development works is essential for improving public infrastructure and delivering the intended benefits to the people.

Among others, the meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Development Bandipora, Chief Planning Officer Bandipora, Executive Engineer PWD (R&B) Sub Division Bandipora and other concerned officers.
