Black Bear Spotted in Gulshan Colony Khunmoh; Search operation launched

KHUNMOH, August 22: A black bear was spotted in the Gulshan Colony area of Khunmoh on the outskirts of Srinagar on Saturday, triggering concern among local residents.
The sighting comes amid growing concern in the area, as three people were injured in separate bear attacks in the same locality last week.
Residents have urged the concerned Wildlife Department authorities to intensify search and capture operations to ensure the safety of people living in the area.

The Wildlife Department, Range Khrew, has already installed three trap cages in the area to capture the black bear and ensure the safety of local residents, officials told Kashmir Convener.
After receiving information about a black bear being spotted in the Gulshan Colony area of Khunmoh, the Wildlife Protection Force, Range Khrew, reached the spot and launched a search operation to trace and trap the animal, he said.
