Pulwama, Sept 22: The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) Pulwama organised a blood donation camp at its district office under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, with party workers and volunteers participating in the drive.
The camp was organised as part of the month-long campaign being undertaken to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday and commemorate his 25 years of public service, according to party leaders.
The camp was inaugurated by BJP State Secretary Arif Raja, Co-Convenor Social Media J&K and Prabhari Pulwama Sajjad Raina, and former district president Mohammad Lateef Bhat.
Among those present were BJP Pulwama General Secretary Nisar Ahmad Bhat, Yuva Morcha State Vice President Khalid Baqaal, Yuva Morcha State Secretary Umar Jan, District Secretary Farooq Ahmad Wani and Youth President Pulwama Rayees Ahmad Dar.
Other party workers and volunteers, including Mohammad Asif Ganaie, Manzoor Ahmad Ganai, Arfat Khan and Wali Mohammad Hafiz, also participated in the programme.
The organisers said the initiative was aimed at encouraging voluntary blood donation and social service among young people.
Speaking to the media, Arif Raja said district-level party leaders and workers participated in the blood donation drive as a tribute to the Prime Minister on his birthday. He also extended birthday greetings to Modi.
Raja said the blood donation camp was one of several activities being organised under the month-long Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, including hospital visits, blood donation drives, Swachh Bharat activities and other social-service programmes.
He further said similar programmes were being organised across the country, including in all ten districts of Kashmir, with youth and party workers participating in the campaign.
