Baramulla Police Makes DIO-Issued ID Card Mandatory for Media at VVIP, Public Events

Baramati, July 16: District Police Headquarters Baramulla has made it mandatory for journalists to carry valid identity cards issued by the District Information Officer (DIO), Baramulla, for entry into venues during VVIP/VIP visits, religious gatherings, public events, and other occasions requiring police deployment.

As per an official, only media persons possessing DIO-issued ID cards will be permitted access to designated venues, deployment areas, media enclosures, and other restricted locations.

The order directs all officers and personnel deployed on duty to ensure strict verification of media credentials at all access control and checking points.

“No individual claiming to represent print, electronic, digital, or social media platforms shall be allowed access unless he/she produces a valid identity card issued by DIO Baramulla,” the order stated.

Supervisory officers have been asked to ensure strict compliance. The police said any violation or unauthorized access will be dealt with seriously.

The order has come into force with immediate effect and will remain operative until further orders.(GNS)
