Army Organises Medical, Cataract Screening Camp in Pulwama’s Zadoora

Pulwama, May 12: Indian Army on Sunday organised a medical camp and eye cataract screening programme in Zadoora area of Pulwama as part of efforts to strengthen civil-military cooperation and provide healthcare support to local residents.

The programme was conducted under the aegis of the Army’s Victor Force, 5 Sector Rashtriya Rifles and 50 RR unit. Local residents, including elderly persons and individuals requiring medical assistance, participated in the camp.

According to officials, Army medical officers and company commanders interacted with participants and provided information regarding health-related issues, preventive care and healthy lifestyle practices. Medical examinations were conducted by Army doctors along with a local civil lady doctor, and medicines were distributed among beneficiaries during the camp.

The event also included screening of patients for eye cataract surgeries. Officials said individuals identified during the screening process were recommended for further treatment and planned cataract procedures at 92 Base Hospital.

During the interaction, local residents discussed healthcare concerns and difficulties faced in accessing medical services. Army officials assured participants of continued assistance and support related to healthcare and welfare initiatives.

Officials said the programme was aimed at improving outreach in rural areas and assisting elderly and needy patients through medical support and awareness activities.

The Army stated that such initiatives are intended to promote coordination and interaction with local communities while supporting healthcare access in remote areas.
